PDK Inductions, Awards, Scholasrships 2010
On May 26th, we held our annual PDK Induction, Awards, and Scholarship Banquet. This year our PDK chapter awarded two local seniors $2250 and 2 others $1000 awards. Pictures will be posted soon. We also had a great evening inducting six Okinawa educators into our Chapter. It was also a sad evening as we awarded the PDK Member of the year award to a 30 year dedicated member and invaluable member of our team to Dr. Jackie Kelly. She is retiring this year but leaving us with many valuable memories and years of service. The chapter also award Mrs. Marsha Post the PDK Innovative Teacher Award for her outstanding dedication in the area of elementary math instruction. For her year of dedication to providing our chapter with outstanding service "for the unnoticed things" as stated by our chapter's treasurer Krista Hurley, the Butler O'club manager received the PDK Philathropian Award. It was a great evening of recognition and fellowship. The newly elected board members shared their vision of expanding community service, PDK Reads, partnerships with their sponsored FEA chapters, and more effective communication.
